Most on campus community members connect to the internet through eduroam, which can also be accessed at other education institutions. The Connect2Smith Wi-Fi guest network is also available while on the Smith campus.
eduroam is a secure wireless network and roaming access service developed for the international research and education community. eduroam is available to Smith students, faculty, and staff and can be accessed at Smith, the other Five Colleges, and educational institutions worldwide.
If you plan to travel to other institutions that support wireless network access via eduroam, be sure to connect your laptop or device to eduroam while on the Smith campus at least once before you travel. When traveling to a participating campus, you will typically be automatically connected to the eduroam wireless network.
For information about eduroam locations and institutions, see the eduroam map.
Smith Account password changes and eduroam: If you set up eduroam on any of your devices, we highly recommend forgetting or removing the eduroam network from your network settings before changing your password. If you do not take this step, eduroam may try to repeatedly connect using your old password, locking your account.
