Smith offers options for both wireless and wired network connectivity. Most on-campus community members connect to the internet through Wi-Fi. Those working off campus may need to use a VPN for some applications. Note: You don’t need to connect to the VPN to access cloud or browser-based applications, such as your Smith email, Google Drive, or Workday.

Many offices and spaces across campus have ethernet connections.
If you ever disconnect and reconnect the Ethernet cable in your office or space, remember to always use the top or left jack (plug-in port) on the wall, depending on how the jacks are oriented. If you need assistance, reach out to ithelp@smith.edu.
