ITS is responsible for the diagnostics and repair for all college-owned computer equipment. If you are experiencing issues with your computer, contact us for assistance with pinpointing the cause to make an appointment for an initial consultation.
Not sure if your computer issue is software or hardware related? ITS support specialists can help troubleshoot the issue and recommend next steps, such as updating software or checking in to ITS for further hardware diagnostics & repair.
ITS can provide a loaner laptop during a diagnostic and repair period.

If your computer requires advanced diagnostics or hardware repair, support specialists will handle the intake process. A loaner laptop will be provided for your use during the diagnostic and repair period. In instances where your Smith-assigned computer cannot be repaired, or is outside its warranty period, you will be provided with a new computer.
In the case of departmentally-purchased computer equipment, the department is responsible for any repair costs.

ITS technicians can provide diagnostic support and limited repairs on Dell and Apple computers owned by Smith College students. They can also assist with arranging for repairs to be performed by Dell and Apple service centers, if needed. During the process, you will be provided with repair cost estimates after the issues have been diagnosed.
For students with non-Apple, non-Dell computers, ITS can provide limited support including help with OS, application upgrades, and provide some guidance on potential issues.
