ITS is excited to announce the launch of a brand new website for the Smith community. This site is a comprehensive collection of technology resources and services at Smith for community members.
It’s our goal to ensure each member of the Smith community—students, faculty, and staff—has the access and support necessary to have a successful digital experience at Smith. From obtaining your OneCard to finding Faculty technology workshops, we hope all the information you need is here.
For an overview of the site organization and tips on finding exactly what you need, see Using This Site. Don't forget to bookmark the new address! its.smith.edu
Why do we need a new site?
The new website was created in an effort to consolidate all technology information in one place and make sure it is up to date and accurate. We hope the site allows community members to discover IT services offered at Smith, find answers to questions easily, and access helpful instructions.
What will the new site include?
The site is a comprehensive collection of technology resources and information about IT services available to Smith community members. You’ll find an A to Z listing of technology resources and services as well as curated pages by area of interest: Learning, Teaching, and Working. In addition, you can easily search the entire site and receive a list of relevant results. The site is also home to a new Status page and a one-stop landing page for requesting IT support.
What is happening to smith.edu/its, TARA, and the Digital Support Site?
All of these sites will be phased out since the single new site will cover all topics that are still relevant.
Users visiting old TARA and smith.edu/its pages will be automatically redirected to either a similar page on the new site or the new homepage. We will work with our partners–including some of you– to update links to our old site pages to pages on the new site.
Is anything happening to the Smith Portal at portal.smith.edu?
No, not at this time. The Portal page will remain as is. For quick reference, this site includes a convenient Quick Links page that lists and links to some of the most frequently visited technology-related sites at Smith, without single sign-on.
What if I have bookmarks or use links to pages on those sites?
Many of the most visited pages on smith.edu/its and TARA will automatically redirect to corresponding pages on the new website. Digital Support Site pages will be updated with links to the new website. We recommend bookmarking your favorite pages.
Will there be a chance to provide feedback or suggestions for the site?
Yes! We’ll have opportunities for community members to provide input this summer - look for those announcements in eDigest. You can also reach out to ithelp@smith.edu at any time with comments or suggestions.
What if I have questions or something isn’t working correctly?
Please email ithelp@smith.edu with any questions.
