Moodle Update on May 21: Moodle’s annual upgrade will take place on this date.
Fall courses will be available in Moodle for instructors by June 17.
Fall 2025 back to school Faculty Workshops and consultations will be held August 18 through August 29: Attend a workshop for using the updated Moodle; learn about tools for enhancing your teaching; see and play with the new classroom AV; or schedule a one-on-one consultation to help plan your course.
Note: ITS User Support Center and Classroom Help Support Desk summer location: The ITS User Support Center, normally on the lower level of Seelye Hall, will be located in the Morris House living room this summer, starting May 27. Seelye Hall will be closed for work associated with the geothermal project. The Classroom Help Support Desk will be located in the Morris House entryway.

Google Workspace is a collection of tools to help with teaching and learning. It includes a variety of apps, such as Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Google Forms, and Google Drive.
Moodle is the college’s learning management system (LMS) used for creating an online home for your courses. Share course materials such as your syllabus, course readings, and links to video ereserves. Create activities for online discussions, collecting homework, and quizzes or exams.
Panopto is Smith’s streaming media service used to host and share pre-recorded lessons, recorded Zoom meetings, and other audio or video files.
Perusall is an e-reader platform that allows students and faculty to annotate assigned readings. It is available for instructor use within Moodle.
Poll Everywhere is a web-based audience responses system that allows you to capture instant feedback in a variety of forms. It can be used in remote classes, virtual meetings, events, and more.
Slack is a messaging and collaboration platform where classes and other groups can connect with each other and share information and resources.
WordPress is a website development platform used for creating course blogs, digital exhibits, and websites for digital scholarship projects.
Zoom is a collaboration tool for users to connect through video, audio, chat, virtual whiteboards, and screen sharing.

Faculty Technology Training Workshops
