Copying and scanning functionality is available to all Smith students, staff, and faculty using any Toshiba multi-function devices (MFDs) in Neilson Library, Hillyer Art Library, and Josten Performing Arts Library. Flatbed and dedicated book scanners are also located in the libraries.
Staff and faculty can also copy and scan using departmental MFDs.
The cost to make copies for students is $0.03 for black and white copies, and $0.20 for color copies.
Begin by tapping your OneCard on the card reader or logging in manually using the touchscreen.
Select Access Device and then the Copy icon.
Load your originals into either the document feeder face up OR place the original on the glass face down, aligned with the arrow.
Select job settings (set # of copies, paper, zoom, color/bw, two-sided, text/photo, etc.).
Press the physical Start button to begin copying.
Begin by tapping your OneCard on the card reader or logging in manually using the touchscreen.
Select the Scan icon on the display.
Load your originals into either the document feeder face up OR place them on the glass face down with the top aligned with the arrow.
Choose to receive scans via email or Google Drive. Your email address and Google Drive will automatically be entered as options for destinations.
Note: The first time you scan to Google Drive, you may receive an email from PaperCut MF asking for authorization. Follow the instructions to confirm your information.
If desired, change the settings (subject, name, color mode, file type, 2-sided, size, orientation and resolution).
Note: Scans which are too large to be sent via email should have their resolutions set to 100dpi OR send them instead to your Google Drive to avoid file size restrictions.
Press the physical Start button to begin scanning.

Select Access Device.
Load your originals into either the document feeder face up OR place them on the glass face down with the top aligned with the arrow.
From the bottom menu, select Scan to USB.
Connect your USB storage device to the port on the left side of the screen and wait a few seconds.
When the "Found USB Device" message appears on the touch panel, select USB.
Define the settings for the new file as required. Select File Name to change the file name. Select an option for each of the file format, multi/single page and security settings. After the settings are done, select OK.
Select Scan to scan data.
If you have another page to scan, place another original on the original glass and select either the Scan button or the Start button to continue scanning. To finish the job, select Job Finish, followed by the [Function Clear] button.
Book scan stations are library locations across campus. They are free to use. To scan:
Make sure the book scanner is turned on.
Log in to the computer with your Smith username and password.
Align the center of the book with the line on the camera and make sure nothing is obstructing the scanner.
Scan the book page.
Select deliver and type in the desired email address where the digital scan will be sent.
