Moodle is the college’s learning management system (LMS), used by professors for course information and materials.

In your browser, navigate to Moodle at Smith College (moodle.smith.edu).
On the Moodle homepage, select Login to Moodle, then select your organization.
Enter your username and password. If you’re logging in with your Smith ID, you will be asked to confirm your login using Duo Two-Factor Authentication.
After your login is successful, the Dashboard will open.

Once you have logged in to Moodle, you can access courses that are open to you by selecting the Dashboard or the My courses page in the navigation bar.
Recently accessed courses: Displays the courses you’ve recently visited. Select the course title to open a course.
Filtered course list: Displays all your courses sorted by academic term. Select the name of the term to expand, then find the title of your course.
Timeline: Displays any upcoming due dates for any incomplete homework assignments and assessments. Select the title of the activity to go directly to the submission page in your course.
The My courses page enables you to sort past, in-progress and future courses. You can search by course name, sort by name or when you last accessed a course, and add a star to courses to keep a list of favorites. Select the title to view your course.

How do I log in to Moodle?
Go to moodle.smith.edu and use your Smith ID to log in. You will be asked to confirm your login using Duo Two-Factor Authentication.

How do I find my courses?
After you login to Moodle, you will be taken to your Dashboard page where you will find your recently accessed courses. If you want to see all of your courses, go to the top navigation bar and select My courses.
If it’s before the start of the academic term, students are not added to upcoming Moodle courses until about one week before the start of classes.
You may not be enrolled in the course. If you recently added the course, it may take up to 24 hours for your Moodle enrollment to be updated by the course registration system.
Your professor may not be using Moodle or they may have not yet made their site available to students.
Moodle courses get created automatically for all courses each semester. It’s at the discretion of the instructor whether they use Moodle for their courses. Check with your instructor at the beginning of the semester about whether you class will be using Moodle.

Profile pictures in Moodle are optional and can be changed by editing your profile.
Log in to Moodle, then to the upper right, select your user icon and then choose Profile. Your Profile page will open.
Under User details, select Edit profile.
Scroll down to the section, User picture, then upload your profile image. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select, Update profile.
No, you cannot update your name email address through Moodle because it’s using your information recorded in Workday. In order to make changes to your preferred name, review how to Check and/or Update Your Preferred Name in Workday.
