Guests visiting Smith campus who wish to print must purchase a Guest Printing card. This includes Five College students, high school students enrolled in Smith courses, alumni, and community visitors. As a guest, you can set up Smith's virtual printers– referred to as FollowMe printers–on your own device (laptop, phone, iPad) and then print to printers located in Neilson Library. (If you have an active smith.edu email account, follow the instructions for Student Printing or Faculty & Staff Printing.)
Purchase a Guest Printing card. Cards can be purchased from the OneCard Campus Cash machine located on the first floor (L1) of Neilson Library near the printers. The card costs $1.00. Guests must add money to the card to cover the printing cost of their jobs.
On your device, connect to the Connect2Smith wireless network. Use sophiasmith when you are prompted for a password or a security key.
Set up Papercut's Mobility Print on your personal device. Select your device’s operating system from the list below and remember to look for the FollowMe printers. Important: Check that your device meets the Device requirements found near the bottom of the operating system page.
After the FollowMe printers are set up on your device, open the file you would like to print and select Print. On mobile devices, this may be under the share icon menu. Print options will display.
From the list of available printers, locate the FollowMe printers. Select FollowMe-BW to print at a black and white printer or FollowMe-Color to print at a color printer.
The default paper and layout options for FollowMe printers may be different from what is desired. Confirm the selections, e.g., paper size, orientation, page range, and number of copies..
Select Print to submit the job.
On your device, you will be prompted for a Smith account username and password. Enter the number on the front of the guest printing card for the username AND password when prompted. A message will appear on your device once the job has successfully been submitted to the FollowMe print queue.
Head to a printer release station located in the printer area on the first floor (L1) of Neilson Library. To access the release station, you will use the same number on the front of the guest printing card for your username and password. Follow the signs at the station to release your print job and remember to logout when you're done.
